Bye Tiffany!!
So sad! My friend Tiffany moved to Texas with her family. We had such a great time with her! I am going to miss our game nights! Her husband Drew retired from the Navy and got a job down in the Dallas/Ft Worth area. I am excited for them..moving always brings a new adventure, but Fallon won't be the same. She has the greatest family! You'll have to check out her blog sight:schmelterfunnyfarm .blogspot.com It's a blast to read and then you can see why I like her so much. The week before she left was crazy! We were busy almost every night. On Thursday we got her hair cut (which by the way looks AWESOME), and then her whole family, Nan and Geran, and our friend Stan all converged on the VERY small Caufield house to eat an authentic Japanese Dinner called Oyakudon. It's sooooo tasty. You will all have to visit me so I can cook it for you..it would be easier than trying to explain it to you. Anyway, it was an awesome night and we had a blast...(Grant felt a little crowded, but I felt right at home!) Friday was nothing short of hellish! While her family was busy packing out, my truck broke down...a week after Grant's had broke. Grant called to tell me, I of course nearly broke down! While he's trying to get home Tiff calls..She says...I'm on my way over..I'm having a bad hair day!!! This of course just makes me laugh. She gets over just as Grant is out in the driveway trying to fix the truck. She volunteers her daughter's car and once again saves the day! We got our truck fixed. Her pack out took longer than expected. As the last of her stuff is being moved from the house she finds out that a family was ready to move in the next day!!! Now, as most people know, the wear and tear on a house is always pretty rough..double that when you live in Military housing. Most of us in the Navy are only at one place maybe 3 years at a time..the Schmelter's have been at Fallon for 8 years!!! There house was not bad, but it was in desperate need of painting, new carpet, plumbing..the list goes on. Anyway, the family didn't want to wait, so the housing crew started working Saturday afternoon, and the family started moving in on Sunday.... WOW! The Schmelter's spent Christmas in Utah and then hit the road to Texas. We'll stay in touch and I'll let you all know how they are doing!
