The King of the Hill

Macen loves going to Grandma Linda's and Grandpa Rick's property. They have wide open spaces to run! They also have a huge rock pile for him to climb on. I think he could have played on it all day!
Here he is climbing!
He is the king. Grandpa gave him a piece of wood that looks lika a sword. He felt like a king!
Here's the boys right before we got ready to head back to Grandview.

The Ski trip to Bogus Basin

Here's the guys getting excited to start on the slopes! Actually Grant was excited, Macen wasn't too sure!
And this is why. It was a VERY VERY snowy day! This is what it looked like at 9:00 in the morning! You can see why I didn't get any pictures of the guys actually skiing!
After Macen went to his lesson (Alex, his teacher, was awesome) the guys let me take another picture. I think that Macen will be skiing more from now on!

So This is Christmas

Here's Macen in front of our family gift this year. (The TV)
Macen talking deciding what gift to open first.
Please ignore the scary lady in pink...Macen was going through his stocking. (He's had that stocking his whole life. It was bought in St. George the year he was born)
Here's pop opening one of his gifts..He loves that hat in case you are wondering. He wears it all the time. If you ever see him in it, do me a favor and say these words.."Chicken Pot Chicken Pot Chicken Pot Pie"

And What Have You Done

MAcen and Dad liked the gifts...
Dad had to help with a few
Here's the boy set to play his Wall-E game (He asked Santa for this game, and that is all he wanted to play)

My Willow Tree

Every year my mom has been adding to my Willow Tree Nativity. (I collect Nativity sets) This is how it's looking. Beautiful isn't it. I will say, I love this set, but my favorite Nativity will always be the ceramic one that my mother made me. It's so perfect. Every year I put it up, and every year it reminds me of how awesome my mom is!
This is the one Grant gave me this morning!
And this one is from Macen

Just some pictures

We have a ranch up the street from us that raises buffalo. It's pretty common here in the west. I'm not sure how many of you out east have ever seen live buffalo. They're pretty amazing! Every time we pass by them Macen and I sing "Home on the Range"
Here's a picture of part of the valley. It's been snowing up in the mountains. It's a pretty sight!

It's almost CHRISTMAS

This is my most favorite ornament! I think it says it all!
So, this is our Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. We got it our first Christmas in Virginia. Prior to that, we were never home for Christmas, so we never really needed a tree. When we got to our place in Virginia, Grant decided it was time to decorate our home for the holidays. We bought this tree, prelit. It had to be small because we've never really had the space for anything bigger. Well, every year, one of the lights go out on the tree...and it gets a little sorry looking. Every year I say "Maybe it's time for a new tree" and every year I change my mind. We call it Charlie, because it looks like the tree in the Charlie Brown Christmas show. (aka..one of my favorite holiday traditions) So, ladies and gentlemen, this tree will be following the Caufield clan through all of our adventures!

Just a thought

Life is short.

Break the rules.

Forgive quickly.

Kiss slowly.

Love truly.

Laugh uncontrollably,

and never regret anything that made you smile.
