So This is Christmas

Here's Macen in front of our family gift this year. (The TV)
Macen talking deciding what gift to open first.
Please ignore the scary lady in pink...Macen was going through his stocking. (He's had that stocking his whole life. It was bought in St. George the year he was born)
Here's pop opening one of his gifts..He loves that hat in case you are wondering. He wears it all the time. If you ever see him in it, do me a favor and say these words.."Chicken Pot Chicken Pot Chicken Pot Pie"

And What Have You Done

MAcen and Dad liked the gifts...
Dad had to help with a few
Here's the boy set to play his Wall-E game (He asked Santa for this game, and that is all he wanted to play)

Another year over

Here's Scout..A little worn out after his second Chrismas with us!
And the winner of the day......He was so tired. We were watching "The Santa Claus 3" and I looked over....Poor baby!

My Willow Tree

Every year my mom has been adding to my Willow Tree Nativity. (I collect Nativity sets) This is how it's looking. Beautiful isn't it. I will say, I love this set, but my favorite Nativity will always be the ceramic one that my mother made me. It's so perfect. Every year I put it up, and every year it reminds me of how awesome my mom is!
This is the one Grant gave me this morning!
And this one is from Macen

Just some pictures

We have a ranch up the street from us that raises buffalo. It's pretty common here in the west. I'm not sure how many of you out east have ever seen live buffalo. They're pretty amazing! Every time we pass by them Macen and I sing "Home on the Range"
Here's a picture of part of the valley. It's been snowing up in the mountains. It's a pretty sight!

It's almost CHRISTMAS

This is my most favorite ornament! I think it says it all!
So, this is our Charlie Brown Christmas Tree. We got it our first Christmas in Virginia. Prior to that, we were never home for Christmas, so we never really needed a tree. When we got to our place in Virginia, Grant decided it was time to decorate our home for the holidays. We bought this tree, prelit. It had to be small because we've never really had the space for anything bigger. Well, every year, one of the lights go out on the tree...and it gets a little sorry looking. Every year I say "Maybe it's time for a new tree" and every year I change my mind. We call it Charlie, because it looks like the tree in the Charlie Brown Christmas show. (aka..one of my favorite holiday traditions) So, ladies and gentlemen, this tree will be following the Caufield clan through all of our adventures!

Just a thought

Life is short.

Break the rules.

Forgive quickly.

Kiss slowly.

Love truly.

Laugh uncontrollably,

and never regret anything that made you smile.

Weekly update

WOW, it has been awhile! There is so much going on! First off, good luck to Pam, Casey, and Courtney. They moved this past Friday to California. They got there safe and sound, and picked up keys to the new house today! I'm so excited for them. I don't need to tell you how sorry for myself I'm feeling, but I am glad that Pam gets to play with her friend Doni!
As you read the blog, you'll find the story about Scout's wound, so I won't get in to detail about that!
I got a new calling (job, for all you non LDS) at church. I teach Sunday School to the 12 and 13 year olds. They are sooooooo great. What amazing kids. I'll be blogging about them throughout the year!
Our Christmas party last tuesday was a hit! Nan did a great job and my program went better than I expected. Santa came to visit (Thanks again Pete) and dinner was awesome!
We went ot the Chief's party on Thursday. My friend Nettie went with us. I'm trying to fix her up. It didn't go as planned (mostly because of Scout) but Nettie was a hit, and she'll have to come to the club with me more often.
My nephew RJ has found his future wife. I still don't have any pitures (hint hint) nut when I do I'll blog them.
Macen's christmas concert is this Wednesday, and his first grade play is on Thursday. I'll be sure to get lots of pictures, so check back!
That's it for now. Have a great week, take the survey, leave me a comment or two.....and MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT
PS..To Kim and Kaylee...SANTA'S COMING!!!!!!

It snowed for Jana today

So, my friend Jana loves snow. Today it snowed in Fallon. Jana got so excited, she got out of the trunk to dance. Here she is catching snowflakes on her tongue. (It looks like she's licking that pole thing in the background though)

Scout's scary night

Our dog Scout got injured on Thursday night. We're not sure how, but he got a gash on his hind leg. Grant and I were at the Chief's Christmas party when our babysitter, Geran, called and let us know what was going on. Grant rushed home, and paged our vet. Turns out, since the bleeding had stopped, we didn't have to take him to the vet until the following morning. Grant was very concerned, so he sent me to Wal-Mart at 10 pm to pick up some Neosporin. When I got home we packed the wound and allowed Scout to sleep on our bed. By doing so, I was moved to the couch...hmmmmm....Anyway, Grant took him in first thing Friday morning. Scout got four stitches and is doing fine. A big thanks goes to Lahontan Animal clinic (and a special thanks to Craig Schank)
Here's the wound all stitched up..according to Macen, Scout is naked in only one spot...
Here's another view....

When you thought I wasn't looking

A message every adult should read, because children are watching you and doing as you do, not as you say.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you hang my first painting on the refrigerator and I immediately wanted to paint another one. When you thought I wasn't looking I saw you feed a stray cat, and I learned that it was good to be kind to animals.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make my favorite cake for me and I learned that the little things can be the special things in life. When you thought I wasn't looking I heard you say a prayer, and I knew there is a God I could always talk to and I learned to trust in God.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you make a meal and take it to a friend who was sick, and I learned that we all have to help take care of each other. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you give of your time and money to help people who had nothing and I learned that those who have something should give to those who don't.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw you take care of our house and everyone in it and I learned we have to take care of what we are given. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw how you handled your responsibilities, even when you didn't feel good and I learned that I would have to be responsible when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw tears come from your eyes and I learned that sometimes things hurt, but it's alright to cry. When you thought I wasn't looking, I saw that you cared and I wanted to be everything that I could be.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I learned most of life's lessons that I need to know to be a good and productive person when I grow up.

When you thought I wasn't looking, I looked at you and wanted to say, 'Thanks for all the things I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.' Each of us (parent, grandparent, aunt, uncle, teacher or friend) influences the life of a child. How will you touch the life of someone today?

remember, that everything you do matters, whether someone sees it, doesn't see it, or secretly sees it.
